Star Crossed

Somewhere in the night, calling to be heard, she strums a guitar waiting to see
deep down in her heart, she surely believes, true love can be found, where could he be

some years ago in her childhood, she would imagine to be grown
seeing herself hold out her hand, and then to receive her sweetheart's gold band

somewhere in his head, drowning in the past, he reaches a shore he's never seen
half dead from the fight, still somewhere within, he chooses to go where he's never been

and now with the air of indifference, crossing  the line of his fears
letting the coins fall where they lay, and voicing the thoughts that were so hard to say

could this be a departure, has the tide turned at last
off in the dark they can see the gypsy dancers, and then from nowhere a love that could last

now gazing outside, off into the west, he's open to see what could be best
bad wheather will pass, hearts mend unlike glass, love opens more doors than he could have guessed

now they recall when they first met, they were alone and unsure
they both had resolved to take one last chance, a shot in the dark at a star crossed romance
